Bright is a postulant in the Diocese of Huron. He is married to Doreen and are blessed with three children - twin daughters, Sheilah and Sheeba, and Shalom. Originally from Uganda, East Africa, Bright comes from a family of 9 children in a village in Uganda. Life wasn't easy growing up - Bright faced many challenges, especially when it came to getting an education. Money was tight, and many people around them didn't believe he could achieve much.
Bright’s dream was driving a taxi because it seemed like a quicker way to make money and offer financial support to the rest of the family. But his mom encouraged him to keep in school despite the financial challenges. Thanks be to God his local church members would pool their money for Bright to keep in school.
Bright graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations from Uganda Christian University. He then studied filmmaking in California. He has since made documentaries to teach people about controversial cultural practices like FGM and started an in-house film studio in Uganda dedicated to making change.
Bright and his family relocated to Canada in 2014 as Temporary Foreign Workers, managing a Subway Restaurant in Red Lake, Ontario, for two years. In 2016, Bright and his family moved to the USA, where Bright was pursuing a Master of Science. He returned to Canada in 2019 and joined Huron College and is nearing the completion of his M.Div. Program.
Bright is all about never giving up, even when life is tough; He showed that with hard work and passion, one can achieve their dreams, despite life’s challenges. Bright’s journey isn't just about filmmaking – it's about hope, resilience and never giving up. Bright believes that if God can use anything, he can use him too, to motivate those on the verge of giving up and inspire change. He looks forward to bringing his gifts and his can-do spirit to the Paul’s Place Board
