Kim Parker brings over 25 years of leadership & business experience to her work and volunteer roles, with 13+ years in broadcast media helping businesses connect with their customers. The combination of her training at the Ivey School of Business and front-line experience working with businesses and not-for-profits has given her a tremendous depth of business knowledge.
Kim is committed to active roles in her community, and has dedicated many hours of service to the London Food Bank, Ingersoll Theatre of the Performing Arts, and St. Joseph’s Hospital Bust-A-Move For Breast Health. She has been a Board Member with the Oxford Community Foundation since 2020, and will be serving in the role of Chair from April 2024-26. A Metis woman by heritage, Kim continues on her journey to understand her family’s history as well as her individual role as we seek truth and reconciliation with First Nations and Indigenous peoples in Canada. Kim has undertaken many educational opportunities as part of her journey, including Indigenous Canada through the University of Alberta, and Indigenous World Views through the University of Toronto.
Addressing food security has been a passion throughout Kim’s work and volunteer life. She was raised on a small family farm in Oxford County and knows how important gardens were to her family’s food security. Like her mother and grandmothers before her, she always had a garden to provide fresh vegetables for her family. She passionately believes that everyone has the right to access affordable, fresh, healthy food, and is committed to helping bring food security to individuals and communities across Canada and around the World.
